Celebrating 34 Years in Business & 34 Things For Which I Am Grateful

This month StaffLink celebrated thirty-four (34) years in business. Thirty-four (34) years represents more than half of my life!   I am tremendously grateful for StaffLink’s longevity. Here are 34 additional things for which I am grateful!

  • That StaffLink provides me with purposeful work and a steady livelihood
  • The StaffLink office staff, their dedication is the reason for StaffLink’s success and longevity
  • My business manager, who for 28 ½ years has been involved in every important decision and function of the organization
  • Our current receptionist whose reliability opens the office early, even on snow days for nearly for 21 years
  • Our service and scheduling manager, who has been my confident and trusted partner for nearly 23 years
  • Our nursing supervisor, who for 24 years has reviewed and overseen necessary paperwork and program compliance
  • Our Certified Care Manager (CCM) who for 9 years has compassionately worked one-on-one with client families
  • Our Sales Manager, who even in the pandemic maintains contact with our industry referral sources
  • Our biller of government programs who has been with us for nearly 28 years
  • For all of our other administrative team not individually mentioned, who contribute full-time, part-time or “as needed” in keeping the good ship StaffLink afloat
  • Our team of caregivers and health care workers who represent our seven core values of dedication, reliability, compassion, trustworthiness, professionalism, service to others and teamwork on a daily basis
  • Our past and current customers and clients, who have entrusted their need for caregivers and staff to us
  • New and different marketing methods in 2021 that will connect us to new referral sources, new business, and new opportunities
  • My, and my team’s, willingness to learn new skills and to challenge ourselves
  • Google, on which you can find instructions in some form for any and everything
  • Owning my office building
  • Long-term and renewing tenants in my building during the middle of the pandemic
  • Our reliable and great handyman for our commercial building and my home
  • My Siblings, with whom I share history, memories, values, genes and love
  • My beautiful, talented, and kind daughter, who shares her love and journey with me daily
  • My extended family from Kansas and Oklahoma that remind me of my roots and foundation
  • My both rollicking and prayerful, weekly Zoom get-together with my girl cousins from coast-to-coast
  • The young people in my life, including my daughter’s friends and my nieces and nephews, who remind me without intent, of my age and that I am appreciated for my hard-earned wisdom
  • Both old and good friends (not always the same) that bring joy and connectivity to my world
  • The memories that make me smile of those individuals both living and who have gone before me, whom I love and have loved deeply
  • Books, especially the newer audio books, that allow me to multi-task while I am being educated, entertained, and taken on journeys not bound by time, near and far
  • Diverse genres of music and dance, which connect me to other places, people, cultures, times, and very intimately to my own past memories, as well as past and current emotions
  • My multi-racial Bridges discussion group which always provides engaging conversation and an unique perspective about race and justice
  • For smart technology that brings a variety of entertainment, convenience and security to our homes and lives
  • The recumbent bike that helps me keep in shape during the pandemic
  • My multiple women’s business groups whose value is innumerable, while also being affirming, uplifting and instructive
  • My philanthropic and volunteer activities, that expand my purpose and add joy to my life
  • The hope of visiting faraway places where passports are required, some with beaches, some with museums, some with temples, sundry cultures, where the food always fascinates me, where I am certain to explore when this pandemic is over
  • And finally, for God who gives me peace and confidence that everything will work out for the good even when the path is not clearly defined
